In June 2020 after more than a decade creating music together, Stolen where about to kick off their nationwide China tour to celebrate 10 years of being a band. In the midst of rehearsals and promoting their upcoming shows, the band decided to strip down their own music and go back to the essence by making unplugged versions for their own songs. Stolen performed these songs live at the Chengdu Express festival, a 2 day special citywide carnival celebrating underground music in Chengdu in various venus across the city. Stolen are regarded as one of the most thrilling live acts coming out of China mixing various elements of rock and electronic music wrapped in a visual spectacle, this unplugged record shows Stolen from a different perspective and proves how great musicians they really are. 
Chengdu Express Unplugged is released in a limited hand numbered vinyl edition. The record comes in a beautiful gatefold cover with an additional die-cut cover. The vinyl beautifully matches the artwork made by the band’s visual artist Formol and comes on a clear with translucent green smoke heavy weight vinyl. All tracks where mixed and mastered by Stolen’s keyboardist Duan Xuan. 
“ Perhaps it is because we are always overthinking our thoughts in the face of the global ecological crisis. We don't want our music to be presented only through electronic transmission. If we would encounter a "blackout" scene like in a science fiction movie, I hope we can still pick up the instruments in our hands to play our own music, and pass on these songs we wrote over the last 10 years. As a carnival of the end times, we would love our music to really exist in it’s essence.
