Explosions in the Sky is an American post-rock band from Texas. The band has garnered popularity beyond the post-rock scene for their elaborately developed guitar work, narratively styled instrumentals - what they refer to as "cathartic mini-symphonies" - and their enthusiastic and emotional live shows.

With a soft heartbeat-like thump that grows stronger by the minute, the band is replicating the simple movements that, when strung together, form the unpredictably complex machine that is the human body. Words simply cannot do this the justice that it deserves. It goes so far beyond elementary comparisons to other bands. After selling hundreds of thousands of albums and tickets and doing soundtracks for major picture soundtracks, Explosions in the Sky will celebrate their 20th anniversary with their first headlining shows of their career in China.
